The Best Shows You Should Watch on Netflix Right Now (Bojack Horseman)

Netflix definitely has a ton of quality content, no one can deny that! Quarantine was the best time to catch up with all the TV shows and movies on the list that you always postponed. That’s what I did, at least. If you are into animated adult shows, this genre is having its golden age right now! With shows like Big Mouth, Disenchantment, Rick and Morty, and of course, the one and only Bojack Horseman.

I came into it because a friend showed it to me and I was immediately hooked! No surprise there since I am a sucker for cartoon entertainment, but there was something different about this specific show. There was a scarily accurate undertone, some parts didn’t really feel like fiction. It started as pure comedy gold, having the audience laughing at Bojack’s horrible life instances every episode. However, as the seasons progressed, the atmosphere truly became darker. The social issues it discusses were way too real. Bojack Horseman maybe a horse, but the way he coped, felt, and reacted were human. It was not unrealistic, viewers could relate to it.

Half of the characters may have been animals and the behavior in their world exaggerated, but shows have to be entertaining, of course. The writers of the show brilliantly incorporated serious subject matters into the funny animations and hid them under all the genius references, all the ridiculous scenarios, and all the laughing. That right there is the reason why Bojack Horseman became so popular.

I guess it makes sense, though. In animations, you can make your imagination go as wild as you want. There are no limits to anything! All it takes is a little bit of creativity and work and you’ve got a series like this one, portraying the absurdness of our world in a unique way. And he made it funny at the same time!

This unexpectedly turned into a 5-star positive review of Bojack Horseman, but I can’t express my fascination enough. The final conclusion is that Bojack Horseman deserves all of its awards and it’s absolutely worth your attention during the quarantine. If you have a Netflix account and haven’t watched it, what are you waiting for?
